Finding The Right Fit


All sizes published on our website are US sizes, we currently carry children’s US 5 to US youth 4.5. Please note that size availability varies by style. Make sure to refer to our kids’ shoe size conversion chart if you have any questions about your child’s foot length and the corresponding size in AU, European, or UK sizing.

We know how challenging it is to get the right fit, that’s why we’ve designed a simple process you can use at home. Print out our plae fit kit and try it out. Remember to measure every 3-4 months.

If your child has a fuller foot or a higher instep, you may need to go up a tab size. If your child has a very narrow foot or low instep, you may want to go down a size.

What sizes are available in plae tabs?

We carry four tab sizes; small, medium, large, and x-large. Below are the tab sizes recommended for each shoe size. Our sizing is based on a medium width kids foot.

Small: shoe sizes 8 – 9
Medium: shoe sizes 9.5 – 12.5
Large: shoe sizes 13 – 3
X-large 3.5 – 4.5, high instep, orthotic

ORTHOTICS & AFOS

What about orthotics and AFOs?
We’ve had many enquiries about whether plae kids shoes will work with orthotics and AFOs. The unique design and engineering of plae shoes and interchangeable tabs allow for accommodation of orthotics and AFOs. A wider shoe opening allows for easy entry. The insoles can be removed, and a wider toe box gives you that extra needed space.
